SouthWalk 2017: Sneak Peek of 7 Picture-Perfect Destinations

February 1, 2017

Southern Cebu

South Heritage Photowalk, also known as SouthWalk, is a lifestyle photography event organized by Drift Stories with the concept of experiencing the cultural and historical heritage of Southern Cebu. It's my first time to join and I must say that I truly appreciated it because I haven't really visited a lot of places in the South yet.

With SouthWalk, it's like a road trip to the South. We stopped by 7 destinations to explore and of course, take photos. Despite having only 3 hours of sleep, I managed to wake up at 4:00 AM to catch the sunrise at our first destination, which happens to be just 10-15 minutes away from my house.

If you love road tripping, then you're sure to have a gratifying adventure when visiting the south. Also, if you really, really love the road with amazing sceneries (i.e. the US states), then read on towards the end because there's a special job opening for an adventurer like you! ;)

But before that, let me give you a sneak peek of our trip to the South!

1st Stop: Naga Baywalk

It was a gloomy Saturday so we didn't witness the sunrise at all. But such is life. Some things really don't happen. ;) Nonetheless, it was still a great day.

2nd Stop: Carcar

This is where lots of old houses are preserved and have stood the test of time. I love old houses and buildings (not necessarily go inside, lol!) because they possess a certain charm that I find so mysterious.

3rd Stop: Sibonga

Aside from old houses and buildings, I'm also fascinated with huge trees!

4th Stop: Argao

I love how it's just so peaceful here.

5th Stop: Dalaguete

There's something about buntings (or banderitas in our language) that makes me dance inside. For me, it spells festivities and merry-making, and all sorts of happy things.

6th Stop - Boljoon

This place gives me the feels. It totally feels like you're transported back in time. This is one of my favorite stops and I can't wait to show you why on my next posts. ;)

Boljoon, Cebu

7th Stop - Oslob

Another fave. The structures here are so picturesque. The chilly weather added to the giddy effect of being there. We wanted to catch the sunset here, but since it was raining, you guess it right.. no sunset at all.

That's about it for now! I'll have more stories and photos coming up soon.

Now here's the exciting part! If you have a real passion for adventure and are willing to travel the open road, you can be Cotopaxi's Road Warrior! This is not a paid post. I'm really just helping in spreading the word because I think that this is a great opportunity for all adventurers out there!

Cotopaxi is an outdoor clothing company based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they are looking to hire the next Road Warrior for their 2017 Questival Tour team! This field marketing specialist will road trip across the United States and visit every major city. They'll assist at each Questival event, a 24-hour adventure race where participants receive a Cotopaxi travel backpack and partake in various challenges.

If you have road trip or outdoor experience, are able to tell a great story, and are adept at social media, this position is for you! You'll be able to cross places off your bucket list all while helping to spread Cotopaxi’s mission of doing good and giving back to the world.

Note: The job is open to U.S.- based individuals because relocation would be at the expense of the person hired. Check out the infographic below for more details and to see how you can apply.
