Foodie Feast at Akita Japanese Restaurant CebuWednesday, June 08, 2016
Everytime I come around anything Japanese, I always get interested. Having studied Nihongo for one year back in college, it seems like I have a familiar attachment with anything Japanese. And food is no exception!
Yesterday was another perfect time to try a relatively newly-opened Japanese restaurant in Cebu. Stepping inside Akita Japanese Restaurant isn't intimidating and despite the rather small space they have, the place felt spacious to me. They have a simple set-up and although you don't get the typical Japanese-themed interiors, the food totally didn't disappoint.
Akita is a casual dining restaurant and is best for those who want to try Japanese food without having to shell out over a thousand bucks. The servings are really big and plenty for very reasonable prices.
Together with some of the Cebu Food Bloggers foodies, we happily filled our unforgiving tummies with delicious Japanese food -- and with a twist (read: salads and chicken). It was a feast!
* I didn't know how I'd take photos if the table (background) is neon green. Hehehe. I actually desaturated this second photo! Lol. Didn't have so much time to adjust my settings because, ahhh food!
*Potatoes I love! The first to be served... and I finished it in a few seconds. Lol, I arrived hungry!
*Foodies Squad! Photo courtesy of Lotus - hello Lotus! :)
*Chicken! You'll never go wrong with chicken and these ones are just the right kind of soft and tender. So yummy! Also my favorite. But I forgot how much. ;)
*Chicken Salad (my personal favorite because it's very tasty and the sauce is a hit!) - Php 180.00
I always say that no one can just make me eat salad or leafy greens but I promise you these salads have really fresh veggies! Good to know, knowing that these were served by dinner time. The freshness really made me devour them.
*Uhm I really forgot what these are. You know me - sometimes I just eat whatever's served on my side of the table. Lol. Comment down there when you know what this is. Or I'll check with them again soon.
*Chashu Miso Ramen (perfect for the rainy season!) - Php 300.00 and really worth the price because they didn't skimp on the ingredients. It's really RAMEN! They also serve a spicy version.
What's good is that you can also order their bento box! It's like a value meal!
Overall, it was a very satisfying foodie experience and yes, the food is delicious and worth the value for your money. Try it on your next food trip!
Big thanks to Akita's manager, Ms Jackie and the crew for the great service and accommodation they provided to us; also to Mr Toshiro Ishihara for letting us experience and share their cuisine. Plus to Master Caloy Olano of Kalami Cebu for bringing us there! Ohayo Gozaimasu! *All opinions stated on this post are entirely my own.
