[February Challenge] Invest In Your RelationshipsWednesday, February 17, 2016
It's been almost 3 weeks since I went back home and I must say it's been a breath of fresh air to be here. Last week, I got hired as a content specialist and I'm now working at home - online and full time. Even though it's my first time to work at home, there were no significant adjustments that I had to endure because I'm quite used to doing things online.
But more on that soon.. because today, we're going to talk about our February challenge! As you know, I started this last month courtesy of CBTL and I aim to complete all 12 challenges.
"When people are on their deathbeds, the one thing they all seem to regret most is not spending enough quality time with their loved ones. When was the last time you sat down for a meal with a family member or had a heart-to-heart talk with your best friend? Invest in your relationships. Plan out a day filled with lots of fun and bonding. In fact, try to do this as often as you can."
Being home gave me the opportunity to be with my family often and it's what I need most these days. When I took the online job last week, I thought that it may not be enough. I need a second job. But then again, I said to myself that I'm already working full time and I don't want to live my entire life overworking.
I want to explore the depths of my relationships and be present. Be with my family and my friends - for real.
Sometimes we don't really notice that we're beating ourselves up and pushing ourselves too much until we break down and hurt our health in the process. I've been there -- and now, I don't want to sacrifice my health anymore. I want to be healthier so that I can take care of myself and my family.
At times, we become too caught up with our jobs that we no longer have time to spend with our loved ones. Does that happen to you too? I feel like it happened to me a lot last year. And this year, I want to change that. I want as much quality time as I can with family and friends.
For this challenge, I decided to schedule a bonding trip with 2 of my best girl friends since high school and what could be the most perfect time than now? I'm in my hometown and we haven't seen each other in quite a while. I just messaged them on Facebook and we planned to go on a road trip without the kids - on a Valentine's Day!
We didn't have concrete plans but what transpired was a crazy, enjoyable, and super fun adventure! We all had a great time! I can't wait to share it on my next posts. ;)
When was the last time you went out with your best friends? Is there someone you haven't seen in a long time that you want to spend quality time with? Schedule that date now! Most importantly, remember to focus on the experience while at it and have fun!
I choose happiness.. and chocolates. Writing is my passion. What's yours? ♥
