120 Minutes in Sarangani Highlands

Sarangani Highlands

You probably won't realize how challenging it is to schedule "a day without kids" for mothers. I do. Consider time, child care, money, and other external factors. Like when I planned this road trip with two of my high school best friends, it took us a week to "finalize" everything and even then, we haven't really come up with a concrete plan. Come what may, it is. ;)

It was a Valentine's Day road trip date for us 3. I told them that we should take off early so that we could still spend the night with our own families. After breakfast at Jollibee, we still didn't know where to go. We were just laughing and laughing and went to the bank first without anything in mind. I dropped by Mercury drug store to buy Strepsils because I woke up not hearing my voice anymore.

I guess we wanted to be spontaneous. Not a bad attempt though.
First stop: Sarangani Highlands Garden & Restaurant

Sarangani Highlands

Sarangani Highlands is known for their Restaurant in the Skies - mainly because it's situated on a hilltop overlooking a large part of the beautiful Sarangani Bay. We spent most our time there walking around to experience the wonderful landscape, lush greenery, fresh air, and blue skies.

It was my second time to visit but the first time was years ago when it was still new. It's a pretty place during the day and although I haven't tried staying there at night, I'm sure it's even more spectacular come night time.

Since we already had breakfast, we just tried their Green Mango Shake and Camote Fries. While waiting for our order, we walked around some more and took photos, of course! We don't get to do this a lot because we're not together often so we got our much needed BFF shots using our DIY camera tripod, lol.

*Please excuse our busy business woman friend. She has a lot on her plate (no pun intended) even on a Sunday, lol.

*The green mango shake was refreshing and really good, no joke.

*They have a koi pond. Weeee. Talk about fish relaxation!

*Enter our DIY camera tripod again. Nope, nobody brought a selfie stick.

Aside from their restaurant and function halls, they also currently have 25 hotel rooms that all have a stunning view of their garden or Sarangani Bay.

*Even their rest rooms are lovely and of course,  clean!

Sarangani Highlands is so serene and peaceful. It's perfect for quick weekend getaways, overnight stay, breakfast, lunch, or dinner dates, events, and even just a quick stroll away from the city.

The place is accessible mostly via private vehicles because it's quite far from the city. We only had to pay Php 100 each (consumable) for the entrance fee. Then we just added around a hundred more bucks for our food. No need to spend too much for a weekend adventure. ;)

Watch out for our 2nd stop on my next post.
